There are regional accents; is teaching like that? I don't mean whether schools are different in different places, as clearly they are. I mean whether there is a Southern manner of teaching, a Midwestern version. There are books and articles that make the case that teaching in Japan and the United States tends to be quite different, that there is a certain set of cultural expectations for teaching in one country and another script in the other. I'm asking whether that's also true within the United States, by region.
